Tips to Follow for Railway Examination Preparation

Indian Railways offers one of the best careers to the people and is also one of the most sought after sector for the job purpose. But with increased number of participation in the examination the competition in the domain has also increased. So, only those candidates can clear the test, who prepare well for the examination.

Pattern for RRB Examination:The paper contains four sections namely: Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence, General Awareness and Reasoning. It is a computer-based examination of 100 marks and has to be completed in 90 minutes. There is a provision for negative marking against wrong answers attempted by the candidates. 1/3rd of the marks get deducted for every wrong answer.

Tricks for Examination:

Tips that we are mentioning below must be followed by the candidates to enhance their preparation and perform well in the examination.
Revise all the formulas and short tricks, you have learnt during the preparation procedure. The sections on which one should focus are: percentages, time and work, time, speed and distance, simple interest and compound interest, data analysis and interpretation, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, mixture and allegation, averages and problems on ages.
Go through the current affairs based on the national and international events. Questions in the paper are framed on such events. Importance should be paid to events like union budget and railway budget.
Brush up the skills, what you have learnt till now to keep those in mind for a long time. Memorize all the theorems, values of cube roots, square roots, cubes, etc.
Solve some previous years papers as this will give you clarity about the sort of questions you are going to face during the examination.
Take online mock tests, this will help in gaining speed and proficiency over the paper.
Regarding the reasoning section, candidates should focus on Analogy and Classification, series, direction test, blood-relations, coding and decoding and calendar.

  • Get proper sleep before the examination.
  • Stay confident of whatever you have prepared.
  • Reach the examination center some time before the actual time.
  • Do not indulge in guesswork as this may result in negative marking.
  • Keep the admit card and stationery with you.
